Guernsey - the island that is passionate about food!  

It's well know culture for eating and drinking - local ingredients, traditions and recipes - are showcased in annual events where locals and visitors alike enjoy the delights of the island cuisine.


Tennerfest: From the beginning of October until mid November restaurants in the Channel Islands take part in offering customers the best value, quality cuisine at £10 per person!

It's a great complement to self catering on Guernsey.

   

   

During April in Guernsey the best restaurants on the island compete for the prestigious annual awards in 8 categories that feature the island's natural ingredients. 

To give you a flavour, the 2005 Good Food Guernsey awards went to ...

Best Starter:  La Barbarie   for their Pan Fried Scallops and Monkfish Tail with Chilli Salt Belly of Pork and Spinach Rocket Salad
Best Main Course: Café du Moulin for their Brill Fillet poached in coconut milk with watercress coulis and raspberry jam
Best Dessert: The Pavilion for their Chocolate Tart, Chocolate and Chilli Ice-Cream
Best Seafood Dish: Christie's Restaurant for their Roast Seafood Platter and Saffron Risotto
Ethnic Restaurants: No 44    - exceptional Indian cuisine
Cafes Brasseries and Bistros: The Courtyard Brasserie, Oatlands the Judges had seared scallops, roast lamb, vanilla pannecotta
Restaurants within Hotels: Cobo Bay Hotel   - a thoroughly professional service and quality of food.
Stand Alone Restaurants: Lescalier - great eating experience .... foie gras, lamb, rhubarb sorbet!

3rd - 18th September 2005 (also at this time of year - the Battle Of Britain Week air display, Guernsey Walking Week & C I Traders' Guernsey Regatta Week).

Sea Food Festival & Fair:  

Enjoy the very best fresh seafood that the Island can offer you throughout July, centred on La Fete de La Mair, in St Peter Port with local chefs, dining right on the harbour and lots of live music.
